The German Apartment is a networking platform and event series for attendees of the world's leading business conferences dedicated to connecting and inspiring the German international community. New this year: On 13th November, the German Apartment will be open all day as a working space.
This years focus: " European Transformation Narratives"
What is Europe's and Germany's path to a progressive future? Can a female-driven economy, a gender-equitable labor market, and "green" growth pave the way for economic prosperity? Will Germany emerge as a leader in AI, electric mobility, or as a global hub for startups and mid-sized champions? What will Europe’s future business model look like? How can we craft and pursue a vision for the economy that drives the country forward?
At the German Apartment, along with 100 global pioneers in culture and technology, we will explore these questions. Join the conversation that will shape Germany's future.

Masterclass "Technology narratives - between the technologically feasible and the organizationally designable"
🗓 Date: 13th November
⏰ Time: 16:00 - 17:30
This interactive masterclass, presented by Metaplan and fischerAppelt, will explore why the introduction of new technologies in an organization often fails due to its own logic. What is celebrated as a promising innovation at events such as the Web Summit or on LinkedIn often encounters existing expectation structures and resistance in the sober day-to-day work, making implementation difficult.
In this session, we will discuss why this is the case and how success can be achieved with the help of technology narratives and well-applied organizational empathy. Together, we will address the following key questions:
- Why are changes in organizations so difficult?
- Which technology narratives affect the organization and how do they influence change?
- How do you use technology narratives to shape your own organization?
Registration
Register now by completing the form below. You can choose to attend the three-hour workshop on 13 November, the networking evening event, or both. We will inform you shortly if you have been allocated one of the limited spots.
Location
Palácio Tancos is situated in the heart of Lisbon, near the historic Alfama district, known for its narrow streets and traditional Fado houses. Close by are significant landmarks such as the Sé de Lisboa Cathedral, the Castelo de São Jorge with its panoramic views, and the bustling Praça do Comércio along the Tagus River. The area also features several scenic viewpoints, including the Miradouro de Santa Luzia, offering stunning vistas of the city.
Partners
The German Apartment is jointly hosted by the Digital Hub Initiative, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, and fischerAppelt.
About us
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action aims to ensure both Germany’s competitiveness and a high level of employment. The Ministry wants to help achieve this by using the legislative, administrative, and coordinating role it has in the fields of energy, industrial, innovation, competition, SME, and European policy. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action has six agencies: Bundeskartellamt (Federal Cartel Office), Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control, Bundesnetzagentur (Federal Network Agency for Electricity, Gas, Telecommunications, Post and Railway), Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing, German National Metrology Institute and Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources.
The Digital Hub Initiative creates partnerships by connecting SMEs and corporations with the newest innovators from the science and start-up scene. This is digitization, made in Germany. Twelve digital Hubs provide a strong network that stimulates innovation by promoting the exchange of expertise in technology and business. The Digital Hub Initiative provides digital services for finding start-ups, experts, programs and jobs.
